iOS games and apps on sale this weekend
Yet again, the weekend brings with it some discounted (and even free) iOS games and apps. Here's a roundup of apps you might want to try on the App Store.
- MLB's At Bat 11 app has dropped in price down to $4.99. Kind of useless if your team didn't make the playoffs, but if you haven't grabbed this one yet and want to follow playoff baseball, there you go.
- Kickin Momma HD is a really excellent Peggle-style title from Hothead Games that's on sale for just a buck.
- The cute match-three Zookeeper DX is also on sale for a dollar.
- And World of Goo is 66% off, also a buck, through the weekend.
- Swipe and shoot basketballer Slam Dunk King is free for the weekend, as is Reflekt, the Qix-otic (like what I did there?) Curvebot Evolved, and Ultimate Hangman.
- Dragon's Rage is also free for the weekend.
- Kairosoft's great Grand Prix Story is half off, only $1.99.
- Super Dynamite Fishing is also free.
Whew! That's a whole lot of games for cheap or nothing. Isn't being an iOS user great?

The struggle for non-iPad tablets continued on Friday after Best Buy said it would permanently drop the price of the HTC Flyer down to $300. The cut is a steep $200 drop from its original price and will be permanent. Both online and retail stores should see the cut take effect October 1.... 
The AT&T Galaxy S II launching Sunday has faced a stumbling block through a major security hole shown on video (below). Anyone can bypass the password or pattern unlock just by waking the phone, letting the display sleep, and then waking it a second time. BGR notes that the only safeguard is that it requires the phone having been properly unlocked at least once before, although that's very likely to be the case for any system that hasn't been very recently rebooted.... 
With Facebook's new Timeline feature, every status update, wall post and photo ever posted since the day you joined Facebook becomes easily searchable to you and your friends. But there are ways to tweak your settings to control who sees what.

Danish toy company Lego is pushing its toys into the mobile age with the Life of George iPhone app, which combines a digital and physical gaming experience. 
On the heels of reports that original Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang has returned to the company to take control, The Wall Street Journal reports that the board of directors for the troubled search firm has been looking at executive head-hunters to interview potential new permanent CEOs, while still looking at buyout offers, sources say. The search firms may have been asked to find executives that could help sell all or part of Yahoo, or try to turn the company around....
